## Description

Dimitrios G. Kogias is an elected Assistant Professor of Distributed Computing, Edge Computing and Applications at the University of West Attica. His work brings together academic research, teaching and the development of practical digital infrastructure, with a focus on distributed systems, blockchain, decentralized identity, verifiable credentials, cybersecurity and verifiable AI. He holds a PhD in Computer Networks, specializing in information dissemination in unstructured peer-to-peer networks, and has contributed to more than 60 research publications.

Kogias founded and coordinates Web3Edu, an applied research and learning ecosystem that connects hands-on education with live blockchain infrastructure. Its projects include Besu Edu-Net, a private Hyperledger Besu network with learning labs, a blockchain explorer and onboarding tools; Proof of Escape, a security-learning game with on-chain challenges and NFT rewards; and experiments in zero-knowledge proofs, learner identity and verifiable records. He also develops educational resources and delivers courses, workshops and security labs in blockchain, distributed computing and cybersecurity.
