## Description

The Episcopal Diocese of California, also known as the Episcopal Church in the Bay Area, is a faith community serving the greater San Francisco Bay Area. It brings together more than 70 congregations and approximately 18,000 baptized people across six deaneries, spanning Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and part of Santa Clara counties. The diocese supports its churches and members through diocesan governance, formation opportunities, stewardship and giving guidance, and resources for congregational life. Its website helps people find local churches, connect with diocesan staff, explore calendars and events, and access information on topics including confirmation, healing racism, finance, administration, and healthy church communities. The diocese also convenes an annual convention for prayerful discernment and shares news, stories, and updates about its congregations and strategic vision. Its events include workshops, church visitations, and pilgrimage opportunities. Through its communications and links to nonprofit organizations, including the Episcopal Impact Fund, the Diocese of California connects people with opportunities to participate, learn, and give.
