## Description

The Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub) is a world-leading academic research and practice centre based at University College London. It brings together academic expertise, innovative practice and co-creation to harness technology for good, accelerating ideas into impact for disabled people and wider society. GDI Hub is also the World Health Organization’s Global Collaborating Centre on Assistive Technology.

Its work combines community leadership and engagement with disabled people’s organisations, assistive technology users and networks; research and data; and the development and testing of new solutions through its GDI Accelerate innovation arm. The organisation supports effective solutions reaching markets through public and private finance, strengthens inclusion across policies and country programmes, and shares knowledge through education and learning.

GDI Hub’s portfolio includes research and development projects, advocacy, professional networks, consultancy and teaching. Initiatives include AT2030, which tests approaches to improve access to assistive technology, a digital language inclusion centre, and a disability, design and innovation master’s programme. Its global work spans more than 40 countries and involves over 200 partners.
