## Description

Discovery Museum is a free museum in Newcastle upon Tyne, celebrating the region’s history of science, industry and innovation. Managed by North East Museums on behalf of Newcastle City Council, it offers visitors of all ages an engaging place to explore Tyneside’s past and encounter objects and stories that bring local heritage to life. The museum is located on Blandford Square and welcomes visitors without advance booking; donations are appreciated. Its website provides practical information about opening times, accessibility and current visitor arrangements, including ongoing roof restoration work.

Discovery Museum also offers activities and services for different audiences. Families can find out about events such as school-holiday programmes and arrange children’s birthday parties at Tiny Tyneside. Schools and home learners can access learning opportunities, while organisations can enquire about venue hire. Visitors can explore the museum’s collections, learn about its history, volunteer or support its work through donations and monthly giving. A mailing list shares updates, competitions and special offers.
