With over 50 years of experience, our member school districts rely on us to ensure that all students thrive in school and in life. We offer a wide range of programs and services, including Special Education, Alternative Learning Academies, Transition Services, Career and Technical Education, Itinerant Services, Care & Treatment, Online Learning, and Gifted Education. At District 287, we prioritize meeting the needs of every unique learner. We work closely with families and home school districts to create customized school programs for each student. Our specialized schools are staffed by experts in special education, mental health, and trauma, as well as support staff such as counselors, nurses, social workers, and psychologists. We are committed to restorative justice, positive behavior supports, AVID, and racial equity, helping students emotionally regulate so they can effectively engage in learning. District 287 special education programs operate on a fee-for-service basis, and revenue is generated through tuition billing. We are proud to serve eleven member districts, including Brooklyn Center, Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Orono, Osseo, Richfield, Robbinsdale, St. Louis Park, Wayzata, and Westonka, as well as students from non-member districts.
