## Description

Dixon Weather Service is a local weather observation, safety education, and storm-reporting organization based in Dixon, Missouri. Its SKYWARN weather center and storm team serve Pulaski, Phelps, Maries, Miller, Camden, Laclede, Texas, and Dent counties, supporting communities across the surrounding region. The service operates an automated weather station using ASOS instruments and control software to report conditions such as temperature, wind, rainfall, and pressure, with data also checked through MADIS. Its website provides current conditions, climate records, rainfall and fire-weather information, weather trends, solar and moon data, radar links, and Missouri highway conditions. Residents can also access a live NOAA Weather Radio stream for Pulaski County and sign up for local text alerts. During hazardous weather, the team conducts storm spotting and chasing, documents severe storms and flooding, and assesses storm damage. It relays severe-weather and damage reports to the National Weather Service in Springfield. Dixon Weather Service also offers free, customized weather-safety classes for schools, churches, nonprofits, and community groups, along with advanced severe-weather and storm-spotter refresher training for local emergency services.
