## Description

DJA Adelaide is a member-led, not-for-profit Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club in Hawthorn, South Australia. The club presents Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as an activity for people of different ages, backgrounds and experience levels, with potential benefits including fitness, confidence, connection and self-defence skills. It offers Gi training, which uses the traditional uniform and emphasizes technical, precise practice, as well as No-Gi grappling, typically practiced in rash guards and featuring a faster pace. DJA Adelaide also describes itself as female-friendly, welcoming participants of all genders and providing dedicated female change rooms, showers and female training partners. Coaching is led by black belt Peter Karounos and brown belt Ian Shaw. Membership costs $70 per month and includes up to five training sessions per week; casual visits are $15, with a 10-session pass available for $120. Newcomers can try three sessions before deciding whether to join. The club shares a purpose-built dojo in Hawthorn through an ongoing partnership with Aikido Adelaide. Its stated aim is to keep fees among the lowest in South Australia.
