## Description

Djoukil Swingtet is a French jazz orchestra founded in 2008, based in Lyon and produced by the Opus Arts association. The group brings together three traditions: French gypsy jazz, New Orleans jazz and big band swing. Its gypsy jazz repertoire draws on the musical legacy of Django Reinhardt, combining American swing influences with traditional European music and French songs. Since 2017, inspired by visits to the United States, the musicians have expanded their sound with original arrangements of New Orleans and big band classics.

Djoukil Swingtet performs lively music rooted in the connection between jazz and dance. Its concerts are suited to swing dance events, welcoming Charleston, Lindy-Hop and Balboa dancers, as well as listeners who enjoy classic jazz. The repertoire includes pieces associated with composers and arrangers such as Fats Waller, Count Basie and Duke Ellington, alongside selections presented in the group’s recordings and videos. Djoukil offers live orchestra performances and accepts booking enquiries for concerts and events.
