## Description

DockFrame is a modular USB-C hub in development for makers, engineers, educators, and Framework users. Built around the Framework Expansion Card standard, it lets people move compatible cards between the DockFrame Hub, a Framework laptop, and supported USB-C smartphones. The hub is designed with seven USB-C connectors, data and DisplayPort support, and power delivery, with final performance and safety details still being validated.

Alongside compatible Framework cards, DockFrame is developing Tool Cards that add practical capabilities. Planned options include a Mini Hub with two downstream USB 3.0 ports, a BreadBoard Card for Seeed Studio XIAO modules, a multimeter for electrical measurements, and an adjustable power supply for projects. Card capabilities depend on the host, power, and development status.

DockFrame emphasizes repairability and open design: its enclosure uses screws rather than glue, and hardware schematics, firmware, browser apps, and case files are planned for release at the end of the campaign. The project is on Crowd Supply, where supporters can follow launch updates and share feedback as development progresses.
