## Description

Doc Lounge is a Swedish non-profit membership organization dedicated to bringing new Nordic and international documentaries to wider audiences. Founded in Malmö in 2006, it began as an alternative distribution network designed to make documentary screenings more engaging for filmmakers and viewers. Today, Doc Lounge distributes films and organizes regular public, preview and premiere events through clubs in Sweden and Finland. Screenings often combine films with live music, talks, performances and question-and-answer sessions with directors. The organization also creates tailored events for companies and other organizations, and offers opportunities to establish new Doc Lounge clubs. Alongside distribution and events, Doc Lounge develops projects that explore new approaches to documentary outreach, marketing and the film-screening experience. Its initiatives include DocSenior, which creates meeting places for people aged 65 and over, centered on documentary films, conversation and community. Based in Malmö, Doc Lounge works with a network of clubs and partners to connect audiences with films and create shared cultural experiences.
