## Description

DocTrotter was a French medical consulting and assistance company founded by Gaston Peltre, based in Paris. It specialized in medical services, advice on organizing medical provision, and on-the-ground medical assistance for sporting raids and televised events. Its work focused on demanding expeditions and endurance competitions, where participants and production teams could require medical support in remote or challenging environments.

The company’s documented projects include repeated medical involvement with Morocco’s Marathon des Sables, from 2002 through the 2022 edition, as well as events such as the Desert Cup in Jordan, Transmauritanie in Mauritania, Rio Eco in Brazil, and the Raid Gauloise Transhimalaya in Tibet. DocTrotter also supported the television adventure series Pékin Express, including journeys along the Himalayan and Trans-Siberian routes, and held meetings in Cape Verde.

Its website collected event photographs, videos, news, press coverage, and practical race-preparation advice, alongside information about the team and Gaston Peltre’s book. A 2023 news post announced the end of DocTrotter’s activities.
