They also encourage corporate participation by sponsoring individuals to work alongside other community contributors.

Additionally, The Document Foundation is the home of The Document Liberation Project, a community of developers dedicated to freeing users from vendor lock-in of content. They provide powerful tools for the conversion of proprietary file formats to the corresponding ODF format. LibreOffice is made possible through the efforts of thousands of global volunteers and generous donors.
