Dogstar Foundation is a small charity that has made a big impact in improving the lives of street dogs in Sri Lanka. Founded by Sam Green and her husband Mark, two former London Underground project managers, the foundation operates the largest spay/neutering clinic in the country. The couple's journey began after Sam's life-changing experience during the aftermath of a terrorist attack in London.

Facing redundancy and struggling with post-traumatic stress, Sam took a trip to Sri Lanka, where she encountered a puppy in need and decided to help. This act of compassion led to the foundation of Dogstar. Since then, Dogstar has treated tens of thousands of animals, working alongside a passionate team of Sri Lankan vets.

They have successfully restored harmony between people and dogs by providing essential veterinary care and promoting responsible pet ownership. The foundation's impact is affectionately known as the Dogstar effect.
