## Description

DOHaD Canada is a national scientific society and regional chapter of the International DOHaD Society. Founded by researchers in 2016, it has grown into a network connecting researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and trainees across Canada and internationally. The society advances understanding of the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease: how environmental influences from preconception through childhood interact with development to shape health, learning, and social function throughout life and across generations.

Its work centers on research, training and education, and knowledge translation and advocacy. DOHaD Canada supports discovery-based research into developmental mechanisms, risk biomarkers, and prevention, while offering trainees professional development and career-building opportunities. It also promotes public education and works with policymakers, healthcare providers, and communities to translate scientific findings into clinical practice, policy, and evidence-based interventions. Through annual scientific meetings, courses, webinars, trainee development activities, awards, newsletters, and other resources, the society encourages collaboration and sharing of knowledge.
