## Description

The International Marine Mammal Project (IMMP), established in 1982 and based in Berkeley, California, is dedicated to the conservation of marine mammals, particularly whales and dolphins, and their habitats. As a prominent initiative of the Earth Island Institute, IMMP has pioneered the Dolphin Safe tuna fishing standard, significantly reducing dolphin deaths by monitoring over 800 tuna companies to prevent harmful fishing practices.
