## Description

The Domaine Royal de Dreux is a historic heritage site in the centre of Dreux, France, with a history spanning more than a thousand years. Once a medieval stronghold of the powerful County of Dreux, the estate preserves the remains of a fortress built near the historic borders of Normandy and the Loire Valley. Its centrepiece is the Royal Chapel of Saint Louis, a 19th-century monument created with contributions from prominent artists including Ingres, Delacroix and Flandrin. The chapel houses the tombs of Louis-Philippe, the last King of the French, and members of the Orléans family, making the site an important expression of 19th-century art and history.

The estate welcomes visitors for independent tours, with an illustrated map and audioguide included in the admission price; a photo-rally activity booklet is also available. Visitors can purchase tickets online and find practical information about opening hours, access and admission rates. The site also offers group visits, event programming, publications for sale in its shop, and spaces for hire.
