## Description

The Organ and Tissue Donor Program, established in 2008, operates the Donate Life Missouri Registry, a voluntary and confidential platform designed to facilitate organ and tissue donations. The program's vision is to ensure optimal health and safety for all Missourians, actively promoting the significance of organ, eye, and tissue donation through education and awareness initiatives. With a total of over 4.4 million registered donors, the registry aids individuals in making informed decisions about their donation preferences, eliminating the need for family consent and establishing first-person consent as the standard. The program is aided by a ten-member advisory committee that guides its operations and funding priorities. The initiative also involves community engagement, educational outreach in schools, and partnerships with various organizations to foster public awareness and support. Contributions to the program are used strictly for its mission and are not allocated as general revenue, emphasizing the commitment to saving lives through continued donor registration and awareness campaigns.
