## Description

Donatori di Coccole ODV is a volunteer association based in Parma, Italy, dedicated to welcoming and caring for newborns admitted to the Neonatology department at Parma’s Children’s Hospital. Its volunteers offer affection, companionship and reassurance, especially when parents cannot be present. In coordination with ward staff, they hold and soothe babies, feed them milk and change their diapers. The association also pays particular attention to infants who are temporarily alone or abandoned at birth, providing continuity and warmth during a vulnerable time. Its work is rooted in compassionate, practical care.

The organization welcomes people interested in volunteering through an introductory meeting, required checks, training and supervised experience. Those unable to serve in the hospital can join as supporting members, contribute professional skills or make donations. Donatori di Coccole also shares its mission through Un Giorno alla Volta, a book of stories and reflections from neonatal intensive care volunteering, alongside solidarity gifts and keepsakes offered through its shop.
