## Description

Donau-Hexa Sigmaringendorf e.V. is a community association dedicated to preserving and sharing the traditions of the Swabian-Alemannic Fasnet, the region’s carnival season. Founded in 1990, the club is based in Sigmaringendorf and brings together more than 120 active “Hexa,” along with younger Hexa-Kinder, to celebrate local customs and pass them on to future generations. Its signature Donauhexa character draws on stories of people seeking refuge in the Danube’s wooded floodplains. Distinctive masks, traditional costumes, and wild horsehair give the figure its memorable, rustic appearance. The association’s activities center on Fasnet celebrations and community events, including appearances at festivities and parades. Its website shares information about the club, its leadership and membership, upcoming events, an event archive, and photo galleries documenting recent years. Visitors can also find details about the group’s pagodas and bar, news, and the club app. Through its events and year-round engagement, Donau-Hexa Sigmaringendorf e.V. keeps regional heritage alive while fostering camaraderie and enthusiasm for carnival among members and the wider community.
