## Description

The Ping Wo Fund is a Hong Kong fund established in September 2003 to support efforts to prevent and reduce gambling-related problems. It provides funding for research into gambling issues, public education and other preventive measures, as well as counselling, treatment and support for people experiencing gambling disorders and those affected by gambling. Its funding programmes include support for school activities, while its broader work promotes awareness of gambling harms and the risks of addiction through community outreach, exhibitions, interactive events and educational media.

The fund also supports counselling and treatment services delivered by four centres: TWGHs Even Centre, Caritas Addicted Gamblers Counselling Centre, Zion Social Service Centre’s counselling centre, and the Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service’s Luther Centre. People seeking help can call the gambling counselling hotline at 183 4633 to contact a funded centre. Public campaigns have included football-themed activities and a mobile outreach vehicle, using games and multimedia displays to share anti-gambling messages with communities and schools.
