## Description

Do Not Touch Your Face is a browser-based tool designed to help people become more aware of face-touching habits. Using a webcam and machine learning, it guides users through training an algorithm to recognize when they are touching their face and when they are not. After training, the tool monitors the webcam feed and displays an alert when it detects face-touching. The aim is to help users gradually learn to avoid the habit.

The site explains that its machine-learning calculations and alerts run locally on the user’s computer; webcam information is not sent over the internet. The tool is presented as one possible aid in following public health guidance: the CDC has recommended avoiding face-touching as one measure to help prevent COVID-19, alongside staying home when sick and avoiding contact with sick people.
