Google Doodles, a beloved aspect of Google Search for over 25 years, celebrates significant global and local events, cultural icons, and much more through its ever-changing logo. Originating in 1998 as a simple out-of-office message, the first Doodle announced the founders' absence for the Burning Man festival. Since then, Doodles have expanded to over 5,000 creations, including animations, videos, and even interactive games.

The Doodle team, comprised of in-house artists, engineers, and cultural consultants, receives thousands of global ideas yearly and carefully selects diverse topics to celebrate each year. These unique artistic expressions undergo meticulous research, design, and development, often taking anywhere from a few hours to several years to create. Additionally, the team partners with guest artists from around the world to amplify diversity and inclusivity.
