## Description

Abode Doorway to Life CLG is an organisation established in 1986 to support adults aged 18 to 65 who experience physical and/or sensory disabilities. Its work is guided by the belief that people can contribute to one another’s wellbeing and that support should reflect each person’s individual needs and abilities.

Abode provides long-term accommodation in a designated centre, where residents have private bedrooms and share communal facilities. On-site support includes day services and independent living training, helping people build practical skills and confidence. The organisation also offers “own door” living units for tenants who are able to live independently, as well as an Independent Living Programme and other tailored supports.

Abode aims to create settings where people can live, learn and work together, while adapting its services as needs and circumstances change. Its programmes support greater independence, participation and self-advocacy. Through its accommodation and community-based services, Abode seeks to foster a supportive environment in which adults with disabilities can develop skills, make choices and contribute to shared life.
