## Description

De Dorstvlegels is a carnival association based in Vlierden, Netherlands, bringing residents together to celebrate the local carnival season. The organization coordinates a program of events and community activities, including its annual Prinsenbal, where the new carnival prince and other ceremonial leaders are introduced. For the current season, Prince Jos I, the association’s 50th prince, leads Dorstvlegelland alongside Princess Lieke Wiegers, Hofnar Thijs Thijssen and adjudants Sjoerd Leijsten and Erik Hoogers.

The association’s structure includes a board, Raad van Elf, Dansmarietjes, Prinsengarde and several committees. These groups support activities such as the carnival parade, Dorstvlegel’s Sing-a-Long and Carnaval 2.0. The Dorstvlegels also share news, an agenda, photographs and information about the organization’s history through their website. Parade participants can find rules and registration forms online, along with the latest results. The association publishes the Dorstvlegel Magazine and welcomes people interested in joining. Through its events, publications and carnival traditions, De Dorstvlegels helps sustain a lively community celebration in Vlierden.
