## Description

Downing is a UK investment management firm founded in 1986, serving individual investors, financial advisers, institutions and businesses seeking funding. The firm says it manages approximately £2.6 billion in assets and has around 300 staff across offices in London, Glasgow, Cardiff, Stockholm and Helsinki. Its approach is to offer investment opportunities that consider both financial potential and environmental and social impact.

Downing’s products include inheritance tax and estate-planning solutions, funds, bonds and investment trusts. Its Business Relief services invest in qualifying businesses, including unlisted companies and firms listed on AIM, and aim to provide inheritance tax relief subject to eligibility and holding-period requirements. Its fund range covers multi-asset investments, UK equities and liquid alternatives, while its bonds provide access to lending to established, asset-backed businesses.

The firm also invests in energy and infrastructure, private equity and private credit. Its activities include developing UK solar, battery storage and onshore wind assets, managing infrastructure, and providing senior secured lending.
