About

Description

The Down Syndrome Centre is a brand that was founded by Peter Gaw and his wife, Mary, out of frustration at the lack of accessible services for their two children with Down syndrome. Since its establishment, this Children's Charity has become Ireland's first services-led centre for children with Down syndrome and their families. The centre offers a wide range of services, including baby massage & physio, music therapy, occupational therapy, parent seminars and groups, pre-teen and teen groups, school visits, seasonal workshops, SibShops, SKIP, speech and language therapy, and Stepping Stones Youth Club.

Their main goal is to provide vital services to children with Down syndrome aged 18 and under, while also focusing on supporting families. The Down Syndrome Centre relies solely on goodwill, gifts, and support from the public and corporate bodies. As Ireland's only charity providing full-time and in-person services to children with Down syndrome, their mission is to create a brighter future by helping these children reach their full potential.

They have a team of dedicated professionals and ambassadors, including influential figures like Gina Daly and Jordan Larmour, who are passionate about promoting inclusion and acceptance. With a strong presence on social media and an active Facebook page, The Down Syndrome Centre continues to make a positive impact and provide much-needed support to the Down syndrome community
