Down Syndrome Innovations is a U.S. nonprofit dedicated to helping people with Down syndrome live healthy, independent, and fulfilling lives. For nearly four decades, the organization has developed programs and resources to support individuals and families, while helping communities create greater opportunities and understanding. Its services span the lifespan and include support for new and expectant parents, therapy and mental health services, fitness and nutrition, social groups, community employment, adult continuing education, and caregiver education. Virtual and distance groups provide free, interactive online classes and support for individuals with Down syndrome and caregivers, including social activities, fitness classes, and caregiver connections. Down Syndrome Innovations connects families with information, services, and community networks, and invites people to participate through volunteering, awareness initiatives, and fundraising. Its annual events include Step Up for Down Syndrome walks in Kansas City and Central Missouri, as well as a golf tournament.
