The Downtown Surrey BIA (DSBIA) is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization that serves as the governing body for the downtown core of our City. With a volunteer Board composed of senior leaders from the business and non-profit community, the DSBIA aims to promote and enhance the economic vitality and livability of the area. The DSBIA offers a range of services and programs to support its members and the local community.

Through its committees, the organization tackles various initiatives, including strategic planning, events, and research reports. Signature events like the Gingerbread Village, Movies Under the Stars, and The Long Long Table bring the community together. Additionally, the DSBIA provides resources and benefits to its members, focusing on sustainable practices and promoting a thriving business environment.

Originating as the Whalley Business Improvement Area in 2003, the organization expanded its boundaries in 2013 to include the hospital district and changed its name to the Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association. In 2022/2023, the DSBIA underwent a renewal process and formulated a new Strategic Plan 2021 and Beyond to continue its mission of driving growth and development in the downtown area.
