Dearborn Pastoral Counseling Center (DPCC) is a reputable brand that has been providing faith-based mental health counseling since its founding in 1984. As a 501 (C)(3) non-profit agency, DPCC aims to make mental health counseling financially accessible for individuals in the Dearborn community. The center initially operated out of Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church and continues to offer its services at this location.

DPCC was established by a group of ministers who recognized the need for counseling services beyond what they could provide to their congregations. Over the years, DPCC has received support from various churches, including First Baptist Church, First Methodist Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church, and Cherry Hill Baptist Church, through both financial contributions and volunteer support.

The center has seen remarkable leadership from professionals such as Dr. David Hurst, Loren Hoffman, Rev. James Wegner, Jim Wright, Mary Ann Zawada, Dorothy Siegl, Rev.

Dr. Robert Seymour, Bob Pattullo, and Janice Kornacki. Initially supported by donations, DPCC now also works with health insurance companies to bill for services.

They have a team of four part-time therapists and a consulting psychiatrist, who provided 852 treatment visits to 87 active clients in 2018. With 70% of their operating budget earned from insurance billing, 24% from client payments, and 4% from donations, DPCC continues to fulfill their mission of providing accessible mental health counseling with the help of their dedicated 10-member Board of Directors.
