# Andrew Schwartz - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `drandrewschwartz.com` ## Description Dr. Andrew Schwartz’s professional brand centers on atmospheric science, snow research, and clear public communication. An atmospheric scientist specializing in snow hydrology and mountain meteorology, he is Director of the University of California, Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Laboratory (CSSL). He leads the laboratory’s research, operations, and strategic partnerships, advancing understanding of snowpack dynamics and their importance to water resources in the western United States. Schwartz’s work connects scientific research with practical needs, including water management, atmospheric river research, extreme weather observation, and climate adaptation. He collaborates with state agencies, federal partners, and academic researchers, while helping modernize CSSL as a research and monitoring site. His publications address topics such as snowpack estimation, post-fire snow conditions, and predicting snow-to-liquid ratios. A frequent speaker and science communicator, Schwartz makes complex findings accessible to audiences interested in snow, drought, and California’s water future. His education includes a meteorology degree from MSU Denver and a PhD in atmospheric science from the University of Queensland. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 Weather _(under Science and Education)_ ## Links - [twitter](https://twitter.com/snow_d0c) ## Logos & icons - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idoZugoToK/w/400/h/400/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1793204594838) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Biscay | #162d61 | dark | | White | #ffffff | light | ## Fonts - Helvetica Neue — asset _(custom)_ - Helvetica Neue — asset _(custom)_ ## Imagery - banner _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idoZugoToK/w/1500/h/500/idZoaQqQSY.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1793204594675) --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
