## Description

Dravet Portugal is a non-profit association dedicated to addressing Dravet Syndrome. We voluntarily take on the necessary task of putting Portugal on the international map for Dravet Syndrome solutions. Dravet Syndrome is a rare disease that manifests in the first year of life. Each child can experience up to 500 seizures a day, with varying durations, from 1 minute to several hours or even leading to a coma. Unfortunately, 15% of children with this syndrome do not survive into adolescence. It is crucial to differentiate Dravet Syndrome from other forms of epilepsy, as a misdiagnosis can be fatal. If your baby has experienced unexpected and repeated prolonged seizures resistant to prescribed medications before the age of 1, we urge you to seek more information from your doctor and get in touch with us as soon as possible. Dravet Portugal is committed to raising awareness and providing support for those affected by Dravet Syndrome.
