# disABILITY Resource Center | Knoxville TN - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `drctn.org` ## Description Grounded in the Independent Living philosophy, the organization supports the right of people with disabilities to make choices, pursue their goals, and participate in their communities. dRC serves people of all ages and disability types, including physical, mental, intellectual, and developmental disabilities; a disability does not need to be visible to qualify. Its services are provided free of charge to people with disabilities in Knox, Blount, and Sevier counties. The center helps individuals work toward personal and professional goals by connecting them with resources, offering individual and group training, and providing opportunities to learn from mentors with relevant lived experience. dRC also collaborates with local agencies and offers community presentations and training on disability awareness and etiquette, the Americans with Disabilities Act, service animal laws and ethics, and related legislation.
