## Description

Dr Derma is a South African online dermatology network that connects patients with dermatologists for convenient access to specialist skin care. Co-founded in 2020 by Dr Willie Visser, Head of Dermatology at Stellenbosch University, the platform was created to complement traditional practice by making dermatology more accessible, regardless of a patient’s location or circumstances. It now also connects people around the world with its network of South African dermatologists.

Through online consultations, patients can seek a diagnosis, receive feedback and get an electronic prescription or professional opinion from home. Dr Derma offers priority access to a preferred dermatologist, helping patients avoid long queues and potentially save time and money. Its secure patient dashboard provides access to consultation histories, prescriptions and invoices. The service is designed to support patients who may have difficulty travelling, while providing a smooth way to communicate with their dermatologist. Dr Derma also works with pharmaceutical brand partners to support its online care platform.
