## Description

The Drei-Talsperren-Marathon is an annual sporting event in Eibenstock, organised by Marathonverein Eibenstock e.V. in cooperation with the city. Held on the third Saturday in September, it takes runners through the scenic Erzgebirge-Vogtland Nature Park and past the Eibenstock, Carlsfeld and Sosa drinking-water reservoirs. The event presents itself as one of Germany’s most challenging and impressive landscape marathons.

Its programme includes a full marathon, half marathon and 8.2-kilometre run, alongside a children’s race with distances for four age groups. Mountain bikers can choose 100-kilometre, 50-kilometre or 30-kilometre routes. Participants can access online registration, race information, start lists, results and event photographs. Course refreshments and music support competitors, while finishers receive a commemorative medal.

The start and finish are at Bretschneider Sportstätte in Eibenstock. On race day, the venue also hosts a sports and family festival with exhibitors and activities. The event combines competitive racing with a community celebration, welcoming athletes, spectators and families to the region.
