## Description

The Ann Harris Smith Foundation is a dedicated nonprofit organization established in 2000 to raise awareness about ovarian cancer, following the diagnosis of its namesake, Ann Harris Smith, with Stage IV ovarian cancer. The foundation aims to educate the public on the symptoms and risks associated with ovarian cancer, encouraging individuals to 'Turn Your Town Teal' every September during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Central to their efforts is the annual Pro-AM Charity Golf Classic, which began in 2000 and continues to serve as a principal fundraising event, rallying support and sponsorship from local businesses, including the Laurel Auto Group. The foundation also encourages community involvement through storytelling, enabling individuals to share their personal experiences with ovarian cancer. With a focus on spreading awareness, fostering community engagement, and supporting research, the Ann Harris Smith Foundation plays a critical role in the fight against ovarian cancer, inviting everyone to join in and make a difference.
