## Description

The German Red Cross Local Association Lichtenau (DRK-Ortsverein Lichtenau e.V.) is a community-based organization with a tradition of local service dating back to 1987. More than 500 people belong to the association, including 35 active volunteers. Its work focuses on social support, humanitarian assistance and practical help for people in and around Lichtenau.

The association offers first aid courses that teach participants how to respond appropriately in emergencies and help save lives. It also shares information about a local childcare facility in Lichtenau, operated by DRK Jugendhilfe und Familienförderung in Lippe gGmbH, based in Lemgo. The facility is the organization’s sixth childcare center.

Community blood donation appointments are among the association’s listed activities, with events scheduled in Lichtenau and nearby locations including Atteln-Henglarn and Kleinenberg. People can support the organization through donations, become members, volunteer or take part in blood donation. The local association’s website provides information about its services, current activities, contacts and upcoming events, helping residents find ways to access training or contribute to its community work.
