## Description

The German Red Cross Local Association Schopfheim (DRK-Ortsverein Schopfheim e.V.) is a volunteer-led community organization serving Schopfheim and the surrounding area. Founded in 1889, it is among the oldest Red Cross associations in the Lörrach district and the Baden Red Cross regional association. The organization has more than 1,300 members, including around 50 active volunteers and approximately 1,250 supporting members.

Its work focuses on local emergency support, health education, disaster response, and social engagement. Volunteers provide medical standby services at events such as sporting competitions, street festivals, and horse shows, and support the ambulance service in emergency care. The association also offers first-aid courses to teach people how to respond effectively in emergencies and help save lives. Other activities include organizing blood donation events, holding social gatherings for older people, and running the Youth Red Cross, where children and young people learn first aid, teamwork, and social responsibility.

The association welcomes community involvement and donations to help sustain its services and projects.
