DRONE FUND is a specialized venture capital firm focusing on drones. With a vision to create a drone-centric society, we invest in and support companies in this field. Since our establishment in 2017, we have launched three funds, with our role as a dedicated drone-focused venture capital firm becoming increasingly clear.

We have invested in nearly 60 startups, and one of them became the first drone company to be listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. As a key player in the drone industry, we have contributed to the launch of this new industry that the Japanese government is also expecting. Our team has grown significantly, with specialists from various fields, establishing our position as a leading venture capital firm in the drone and air mobility industry worldwide.

At DRONE FUND, we operate an entrepreneur development platform called Chiba Dojo, where we foster a startup ecosystem by facilitating discussions on challenges, industry directions, and growth strategies. Our unique approach fosters collaboration and competition among startups, acknowledging that the industry's growth requires collective effort. Furthermore, to deepen our understanding of aviation, I personally purchased the first HondaJet and obtained a pilot's license in 2020.

This firsthand experience in the aviation industry is invaluable for enhancing our expertise. With the launch of our third fund, we have become an integrated public-private partnership fund promoting the implementation of drone and air mobility technologies. Our goal is to advance the social implementation of drone and air mobility, targeting the Level 4 drone deregulation in 2022 and the commercial use of flying cars at the 2025 Osaka Expo.

As infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and water systems age and face challenges, DRONE FUND believes that collaborating with autonomous robotics technology is crucial to overcome these issues. We aim to solve societal problems faster, more efficiently, and at a lower cost and risk, using drones, underwater robots, ground robots, and other such technologies. Additionally, we believe in the potential of air mobility as a new means of transportation for densely populated cities and connecting urban and rural areas.

By utilizing the possibilities of air mobility, we can not only address Japan's urban challenges but also enhance the overall quality of life. Our mission is to contribute to the development of the drone and air mobility industry, supporting startups in the field and promoting the creation of a drone-centric society. Since our inception, we have been investing in startups in the drone manufacturing and solutions sectors.

With our second fund, we expanded our focus to include investments in the field of personal air mobility. We plan to further accelerate our investment activities in crucial technologies for a drone-centric society through our third fund, established in May 2020. By broadening our support to robotics in land and underwater domains, we aim to realize a future where these technologies play a vital role.
