## Description

Drosatos Lab is a research laboratory focused on cardiac and systemic metabolism, using molecular biology, cell signaling, and translational research to investigate how metabolic processes affect heart health and disease. Its work examines the interactions among cells, metabolites, and biological rhythms, as well as communication between the heart and other organs. The lab’s research addresses topics including cardiac lipid metabolism, immune activation following acute myocardial infarction, and signaling pathways associated with cardiac hypertrophy.

Recent publications highlight the laboratory’s contributions to cardiovascular research. These include a 2026 review on cardiac lipid metabolism and 2025 studies examining empagliflozin’s effects on cardiac metabolism and immune activation after myocardial infarction, alongside hepato-cardiac communication involving FGF21 signaling. The lab shares updates and publication information through its website and social media.

Drosatos Lab also provides information about its members and alumni and offers details for prospective visitors about studying and living in Cincinnati. Its website serves as a resource for learning about the lab’s research, people, publications, and contact options.
