The brand's journey began in 2016 with the development of the Druid app. With the rise of cannabis use and the need for an accurate impairment test, Dr. Milburn sought to create a quick, accurate, and affordable solution that could save lives and prevent injuries.

The Druid app gained immense popularity after being featured in Wired Magazine, with over 10,000 downloads shortly after its launch. To further enhance its accuracy, Impairment Science secured an SBIR grant from the National Institute of Health and collaborated with The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine for research validation. Recognizing that impairment affects cognitive and motor functions across various causes, the company expanded Druid's capabilities beyond cannabis and alcohol impairment.

In 2020, Impairment Science launched Druid Enterprise, a management portal and analytical engine for companies and organizations striving to enhance workplace safety.
