## Description

The German Reference Centre for Ethics in the Life Sciences (DRZE) is a central scientific institution of the University of Bonn, dedicated to bioethics across the biomedical sciences. It develops research-based foundations for informed ethical judgment and makes current debates accessible to researchers, policymakers and the wider public. Its work also supports collaboration and advances discussion in Germany, Europe and internationally.

The DRZE provides publications, research resources and educational activities on ethical questions in the life sciences. Its offerings include concise briefings on current issues, detailed reports on the state of research and debate, books and edited collections, a bioethics press review, and literature and library services. The centre also organises events and teaching activities, including forums that bring together perspectives from science, law, philosophy and the arts. Its research projects address topics such as climate and environmental ethics, research ethics for emerging technologies, digital health in sub-Saharan Africa, intergenerational justice and the ethical use of artificial intelligence in neuromedicine.
