## Description

The Dublin HEMA Club, established in 2012 by Neil Byrne, is one of Ireland's oldest Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) clubs, dedicated to preserving and practicing martial traditions. Focusing primarily on German Longsword and Sword & Buckler, the club’s training is informed by key historical treatises, including those by Johannes Liechtenauer and Sigmund Ringeck. The club welcomes individuals of all backgrounds, ages (16 and up), and abilities, fostering an inclusive community.

Classes are held twice weekly in St. Catherine’s Sports Centre, with sessions dedicated to both main weapon styles, and occasional explorations into other disciplines like Ringen. Membership requires completion of a Beginners Workshop or an 8-week course, positioned to equip newcomers with foundational skills. The club thrives on camaraderie and skill development, making it a vibrant hub for martial arts enthusiasts. Participants can also engage in special events and purchase merchandise, enhancing both their training experience and community involvement.
