## Description

Durham County Golf Union (DCGU) is the governing body for amateur golf in County Durham, serving the county’s golfing community since 1908. Affiliated with England Golf, it represents 42 local golf clubs and organises more than 30 competitions each season for eligible players.

The Union runs county championship and strokeplay events, alongside dedicated programmes for senior and junior golfers and competitions for the Past Captains Society. Players can enter competitions online through Golf Genius, and follow live scores and published results. DCGU also provides information about county teams, handicapping, course rating, rules and affiliated clubs, as well as a searchable list of county members.

Its digital County Card scheme gives members of affiliated clubs reciprocal playing rights at participating clubs across County Durham. Members can access the card through the England Golf App. The Union also shares consent forms and safeguarding policies to support players, families and those involved in county golf. Through competitions, membership services and practical guidance, DCGU supports amateur golf across the county.
