## Description

Dynamic World is a near-real-time global land use and land cover dataset developed jointly by Google and the World Resources Institute. Available at 10-meter resolution through Google Earth Engine, it uses AI to provide frequently updated observations of a changing planet. The open-licensed dataset identifies nine land cover types: water, trees, grass, crops, shrub and scrub, flooded vegetation, built-up area, bare ground, and snow and ice.

Users can explore the data and examine changes over time, with examples ranging from wildfire damage in California and snowfall in Boston to volcanic ashfall in the Philippines and seasonal shifts in the Okavango Delta. Dynamic World supports scientists and NGOs monitoring ecosystems, food security, natural disasters, and urban growth. Companies can use land cover information to assess environmental impacts and support zero-deforestation goals or sustainable investment. Governments can draw on the dataset and its derivatives to track land changes and support progress toward Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement.
