## Description

Dzīvības koks is a Latvian cancer patient support association dedicated to helping people affected by cancer and their loved ones navigate life during and after diagnosis. The organisation emphasises that life continues after cancer, although experiences, priorities and perspectives may change. It fosters mutual support through in-person and online support groups, a mentor network, and its Spēka Avots psychosocial rehabilitation programme for patients and relatives. Rehabilitation programmes take place at Dignājas Muiža in Jēkabpils Municipality, and the association also shares information about cancer types, treatment, recovery, nutrition, physical activity and practical patient concerns through articles, videos, booklets and other resources. Its website offers guidance for patients and families at different stages, from learning about a diagnosis to life after active treatment. Dzīvības koks works with healthcare professionals, public organisations and patient groups to strengthen patient voices and improve healthcare and social security. Through regional branches, projects, events and educational initiatives, it connects communities and promotes awareness, informed support and better conditions for people living with cancer.
