## Description

The German Center for Oral Implantology (DZOI) is a professional association dedicated to advancing dental implantology as an important area of modern dentistry. Founded in 1990, it describes itself as Germany’s second-oldest specialist association in the field. Its work focuses on making developments in implant dentistry accessible to practitioners and patients through education, professional exchange, and reliable information.

For dental professionals, DZOI offers continuing education, including its six-day Implantology Curriculum, specialist courses, and working groups. Topics featured include dental sedation, digital volume tomography (DVT), laser safety, radiation protection, and practical approaches to CMD and botulinum toxin. The association also provides membership benefits, support for students, professional networking, and a job listings service.

For patients, DZOI offers information about dental implants and laser treatment, guidance from its consulting dentists, and a search tool to help locate dentists and implantologists. It also shares oral-health news and publishes updates about its courses, events, and annual congress. Its guiding principle, “From practitioners for practitioners,” reflects its emphasis on practical training and collegial learning.
