## Description

The European Academy for Medicine of Ageing (EAMA) is a Belgian non-profit association dedicated to advancing geriatric medicine through postgraduate education, professional collaboration and research. Established in 1995, it provides an advanced two-year course for junior faculty members and promising future teachers in geriatrics. The programme comprises four intensive one-week sessions, held twice a year in January and June, with each session focused on a geriatric topic and taught by experts from around the world.

EAMA aims to strengthen clinical knowledge and teaching skills, prepare future leaders in geriatric care, and connect doctors who care for older people with colleagues involved in medical education. Its course also encourages participants to develop research ideas, gather and critically interpret data, and improve their presentations and scientific writing. Teaching is conducted in English, with opportunities for practice and individual feedback. Participants and experts share meals and activities, supporting ongoing discussion and mutual learning. EAMA also seeks to encourage new approaches to geriatric health programmes and harmonise practices across Europe.
