## Description

Early Intervention Nova Scotia (EINS) is a volunteer-led association that advocates for early interventionists, early intervention programs, and families and children with special needs. Its mission is to raise awareness of early intervention in the community and support the personal and professional development of those working with infants and children who need specialized support.

Early intervention serves families of children from birth to school entry who are at risk of developmental delays or have a diagnosis. Services are tailored to each child and family, with consultation, information, and support delivered in the home and, where appropriate, through community-based programs. Planned interactions help children develop functional skills and reduce the effects of developmental conditions.

EINS also provides practical resources for the sector, including personnel and board policies and a procedures manual for program orientation and ongoing reference. The association helps families access financial assistance to attend conferences, seminars, and other educational events.
