## Description

Earth Observer is a spatial data directory that helps users discover geospatial datasets through an indexed catalogue and search interface. Its collection spans administrative boundaries, elevation and bathymetry, land cover, climate, soils, water, biodiversity, population, infrastructure, hazards, and human activity. Listed resources include global and regional datasets such as Natural Earth, OpenStreetMap, Landsat, Copernicus elevation and land-cover products, HydroSHEDS, WorldCover, and the Global Database on Protected Areas. The directory also features data on forests, agriculture, settlements, roads, energy, conservation priorities, and environmental change, supporting a broad range of mapping and research needs. Earth Observer provides introductory information and a quick-start guide to help visitors begin exploring the catalogue, alongside dataset listings and links to its GitHub presence. The available information presents Earth Observer as a discovery and reference resource for spatial data rather than as a producer of the datasets themselves. Its wide-ranging index can help users identify relevant geographic information for analysis, visualization, planning, and research across environmental, social, and physical science topics.
