## Description

Earthtwine is an Aotearoa New Zealand brand that develops and manufactures compostable products for horticulture and farming. Its mission is to replace conventional plastic products and commodities with innovative compostable alternatives that support more sustainable crop production. The range includes Earthtwine compostable growing twines, with options for indoor and outdoor use, soil degradability, and high-wire growing systems. The brand also offers Earthvine compostable greenhouse clips and Bio Twist Ties, alongside crop-specific recommendations for growers of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, flowers, hops, bananas, and kiwifruit.

Products are made from plant-based biopolymers using renewable raw materials, and their colour pigments are mineral-derived. Earthtwine states that its materials are individually certified compostable and designed to break down without persistent microplastics, toxic residues, or harmful PFAs. The twines are developed to provide tensile strength comparable to conventional plastic twine, and products are tested and trialled with commercial growers in New Zealand and Australia before release.
